OT: Just a word of thanks . . .

Got an opportunity this afternoon to get out of the office.

Beautiful day, sunshine, blue skies, and 72o outside.

Rolled down the window on the car, put on the sunglasses, and rested my left arm in the window.

Drove to the local post office to purchase some stamps to mail a few letters to some former students.

Listened to more than a few complainers while waiting in line, but mostly just typicl "whining".

Comes my turn at the counter so I ask for five stamps.

Postal employee walked over to another counter and got one sheet that had exactly five stamps.

The image on the stamps was the <a href="">Purple Heart</a>.

My thanks to all veterans and Purple Heart recipients on the YT forums.

James-you and Nancy have a deep feeling and understanding for the vets out there. It is appreciated more than this email can say.The silent vets out there look for no praise or appreciation but seem to get it from you two.We say thanks.

Thank you James and Nancy for always taking time to thank a Vet. To a veteran the most cherished words are Thank You and Welcome Home. This Sunday I will be Standing Honor Guard with the Viet Nam War Veterans of Nassau County N.Y. at a deticatoin ceromony for a new Viet Nam veterans recognition section of a military museum here on Long Island. It will be the first time I will be putting on a pair of OD (green) fatigues and lacing up a pair of jungle boots in over 45 years. Somehow I know it will feel like only yesterday. Once a soldier always a soldier.

Let me add Barbara and my thanks to the vets who have served and are serving our nation. Thanks also to their families who sacrifice so much. Thanks, James and Nancy, for reminding us.
