O-T--Smoking unvented gas logs??

Other then the flame contacting the decorative logs, what will cause unvented gas logs to stain the celing and dirty the HAVC filters?

MOISTURE. I have unvented NG heater in house. Had to buy a dehumidifier for that room. Unbelieveable amount of moisture put off by that heater.

Make sure the flame is kinda blue, not yellow. Need adjust air shutter. All I can think of. We had em 25 years and even though my wife don't like the blue flame, must be okay. Need a little air intake somewhere. Is your house too tight. Dave

if you have pets then the dander and hair afloat will be burnt by the flame,and or any other vapor of fume that is floating in the air ie; hair spray,perfume,paint vapor,etc. will be pulled into the "blue-flame" and burned up

WHY would anyone have an unvented heated in their living space?

"Avoid installing unvented (or "vent-free") space or water heating appliances.

Unvented appliances leave all combustion products in the house. Even if incomplete combustion pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO) are kept to a minimum, these appliances can generate large amounts of moisture which can create its own problems. Unvented heaters require special precautions."
