Yellow spoke wheels

James,how about telling us more about those yellow spoke wheels in the shed? Always enjoy a tractor story.Thanks GP

Story #1

Went to look at a JD Model A near Corsicana, TX.

Nice tractor, but just not exactly what I was looking for.

Young man showed me some of his other tractors and projects in progress.

One old tractor, sitting under a tree in his back yard, he had covered with a tarp.

It had factory round spokes.

Paid $600 for "Lazarus" our 40B primarily for the round spoke rear wheels.

Cleaned up the wheels and put them on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvc3v5NobCY">"John B"</a> our 43 wartime B.

Later bought the JD #5 mower shown above from him.



Story #2

Bought a pair of flat-spoke rear cut-offs from a young man in McCrea, AR.

Stripped them down to the bare metal, then primed and painted.

Young man showed me his project tractor a 39B.

Bought "Uncle Earl" for $700.

Went back a month later to get the tractor.
