I just got a case of raging stomach flu , even with a flu shot a couple of weeks ago..Anybody else also having a Happy New Year ?? Going to watch Pawn Stars and Crab Fishermen to while away the evening...Great New Year to all on this forum....Roy

Flu has been going around the job I'm working on currently. From what I hear it isn't safe to get too far from the "facilities", if ya know what I mean.

I had the flu two Mondays ago. It was the sickest I had been in a long time. I felt terrible! Getting sick is no fun at all!!

I don't know if that's what I had yesterday or not,but the wife sure was worried about me.
Woke up with a headache,but nothing too serious. Got chores done,went to the auto parts store and ordered some parts. Came home and sat down for a while and when I got up I was nausious. Didn't eat dinner,just sat there til 2:45,then I had to lay down. Got up at 4 and went out to feed,was REALLY sick when I got back in. Lost my breakfast. Went to bed,managed to get up at 8 and had the wife get me one of those freezer gel packs and a dish towel. Layed there for two and half hours with that on the left side of my face. The headache FINALLY went away. Got hungry about 11:30 and got up and had some toast. Kind of a sleepless night,was dragging this morning,but getting better. Went out and did some welding on the loader this afternoon while the weather's warm,finished tearing the 1020 Deere engine down. Did afternoon chores,so if I don't have a relapse,guess I'm over it,whatever it was.

Had it December 19th.Was my birthday.I guess every king deserves a throne on their special day.Nasty stomach virus.

Thankfully no flu yet this year. Had a nasty strep infection a few weeks ago. Never a sore throat just tired and a fever. Went to the doc as I was feeling worse. She did a bunch of tests, came back positive for strep in multiple organs. IV antibiotics and lots of pills.

wife just went to bed stomach upset. we was supposed to go to church get together. hate to miss all those good eat"s. and playing dominoes.

I have type B since Monday and I took the flu nnalert the first of Nov. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said three out of four that had the shot tested positive yesterday. I am on Tamiflu and Tussionex. Sure is tough on a 62 year old.

rrlund that sounds just like what I had a couple weeks ago. But mine was due to welding though. Light was bouncing of my jacket into my helmet and didnt pay much attention to it. It got me that evening though. Migraine and dry heaves. Pure misery. Put me up for 2 days and Im a youngen. LOL

It's been going through my family too. Marilyn, one granddaughter, my son and I just felt a little punk for a couple of days but a couple of granddaughters and our 'adopted' daughter-in-law had it with a vengeance. Hope you feel better quick. I really enjoy the granddad in Pawn Stars. Jim

Have not ever had the flu
Do not beleive in the flu shot
Do you really know whats in it?????
I'll wash my hands alot and take my chances !!!!

I used to get the flu something awful many years ago. I've taken a flu shot every fall for quite some time and haven't had the flu for a long time. I hope I don't get it, I turned 72 today and I hear it's real tough on old guys.

I haven't had a flu shot since near 40 years ago. That's the only one I've had in my life. It almost killed me. I guess it was one of them kill or cure things. They said I was alergic to the serum that was made with eggs. That was the worst flu I ever had in my lifetime. No more of that shot as long as I have something to say about it.

There is also a shot for pneumonia, being an oldie the doc gives me that also.Haven't had the flu or a cold for years.

Been lucky I guess, knock wood. I get a free flue shot at work and have been flu free so far. Get the occasional stuffy head, but that's to be expected with working inside/outside and extreme temp. changes like we have here sometimes.
