Finger Lakes NY. Probably the best and cleanest part on NY. We go there every other year for summer vacation.Take in Niagra falls on the way.
 
We trailered around through there one year past Lake Placid etc. Some of the narrowest, twisty and steepest roads I've ever been on.
 
That is far from true. The Finger Lakes have suffered badly for many years from industrial, farm, and development pollution.

Last water quality done in 2008 ranked like this for all the Finger Lakes.
"Good" - 2% "Poor" - 12%
Owasco and Honeoye Lakes - worst
Skaneateles and Canandaigua - best

Central New York and some interior lakes in the Adirondacks have some of the cleanest water in the United States - NOT the Finger Lakes.

Oddly, New York City has the cleanest public water supply in the world. Why? Because they ran pipes over 100 miles up here and take our water.

Canandaigua area is where we visit.
Several of us at the NY Expo keep hoping that will show up so we can meet you in person.
 
I used to go to Rochester on business a lot. In my spare time I took drives around the area. The Finger Lakes were outstanding, especially in the autumn.
 
I don't know where in WNY you are but the taxes there can't be as bad as they are here in Tioga County.

I live in South wales,erie county. sales tax at 8.75.Ive been in Catt. county plenty of times,my brother lives just outside Arcade. Bill M.
