frt tires on loader tractor 4PR,6PR??

Or does it make a big difference when it comes to steering?

8N size tractor without power steering and 6.00x16 tires. Have 4PR now and get a little squishy with a round bale on the fork. Would 6 or 8 ply stand up better and make it easier to steer?

Also stays preyy sloppy during the times I need to move bales and the frt tires stay pretty packed with mud. Local ag store is selling pairs of 6.50x16 6 and 8 PR diagonal tread for a good price (actually cheaper than replacing what I have on it now). I think the diagonal tread would be more responsive to steering even though I don't have frt wheel drive and would clean themselves quicker. Would I be better off?

I would go with the heavier tire. If nothing else it should let you run more air pressure safely.
 
In 2007 I put new 4 ply 3 ribs on our Massey 35(about the same
size as your tractor). In 2008 I put a loader off an industrial tractor
on it and began using it to lift logs and such. I noticed right away
that the tires got a lot squishier than I liked and I began to think
about 6 ply tires. When I got my Farmall H last winter it needed
front tires so I took all four wheels to the tire shop and had them
take the 4 plys off the Massey wheels and put them on the Farmall
and put 6 ply on the Massey. It is a big improvement, and I
recommend them highly. Steering is much easier.

DAVE2, The 6 ply tires are the best for your front axles,as more weight is being put on them to carry the extra weight of the load and loader,as long as the spindles will carry the weight. For a field tractor most of the weight is either on the rear tires or hitch,pulling discs, haywork machines,diggers and planters,so the extra ply front tire weight is rarely used unless you run front weight packages. JMO. I used to do alot of tractor work for farmers and that was their thinking. Worked for them,so just passing it along to you.

By the way, we don't have 6 ply on the 706 yet,their here,but not on the tractor.
