I was quite curtly corrected on this term. Seems there's no longer such a thing as "Junk Mail". It's now "third class bulk rate". I've figured out this political correct thing now. Apparently somewhere, somebody gets paid by the word to come up with these terms.

Cute!

At one time you could put in a notice at the Post Office and you wouldn't get any junk mail, but not any more.

I complained to the Post Office about the junk mail and they told me they had to deliver it because the sender had paid postage.

"A rose by any other name is still a rose." Shakespeare.

Call it whatever you want, its junk mail.

Don't complain about the "junk mail". Just throw it away. As it was explained to me, junk mailer's postage payments keep our good mail fees from going much higher. The junk mail is handled at the post office' convenience and is only handled after the good mail is processed.

Nice mailbox.

I recycle my junk mail - through my outdoor boiler. Helps heat the water in a miniscule way. It's especially handy right now with all of the political garbage we're receiving. It seems like there's more BTU's in the political junk. Kinda like the difference in burning hickory and sassafras. Could it be the methane off of all of the B.S.?? I just don't know. . .

if you have time, junk mail is fun mail, you know all those 15 minute insurance offer return envelopes you get? stuff the envelopes with the coupons from the local box store your not going to use and send it back, , same with the pizza discount coupons and the magazine sales people, you have fun, it doesnt cost you anything and they pay postage both ways and still dont sell anything, plus you keep the mail person busy, so he has job security

Thy use a lot of paper- my family has close ties to the paper industry. I am retired from a paper mill and our son works in one. We also have woodlands and a tree farm. Tree huggers- don't start whining, there are way too many trees falling down and rotting, that's why wood prices are down!

Howdy, S. Crum--
I guess I'll have to see if I have room to paint
"Third Class Bulk Rate Mail"
on there now, Gotta be PC these days--
