OT Funny thing to see at a car show

This past weekend I went to the James Dean Days in Fairmount Indiana, and they have a MM U diesel there. According to the show it was the first U diesel sold in Indiana to James Deans aunt and uncle. There is a picture beside the tractor of James Dean with the tractor in the field. I guess this tractor will be around for a long time since its famous. There was a funny little car there that caught my eye, Its a scale model of a 1950 Mercury that is drivable on the road. It was a sight to see inside and out. Its a Dwarf and looked just like the ones sitting around it. I though you folks would like to see. Bandit

Thanks for the pics - really nice. I learned to drive a tractor when I was about 8 years old on an MM U - been a very long time ago.

Actually, the Dwarf rear side windows are quite a bit different than the real Merc- and the front end looks more like a '51 Plymouth.

Why would someone go to all that effort? He's obviously a good metal man- he could have built a real car!!

If the time had been taken to read the decal, it would be seen that the tractor is a UB, not a U, typical half-witted 'information' that is presented as fact on this site.

Here is another odd car from the 2009 Whitewater, KS car show.

It is a BMW Aero car. I believe the owner lived in Wichita and either was an aircraft worker or had worked for the aircraft industry there.

BTW, the Whitewater Fall Festival with parade and car show are this coming Saturday, i.e. October 2.

There were about 50 of the old Mercs at the show and about 8000 cars and trucks registered and shown over the 3 day show. Here a couple more pics I took. The last pic is of a Pierce Arrow Supper Straight 8 good lookin car. These pics were taken about 8.30 am still lots of cars to look at. Bandit
