sheet steel size

any one out there know the sizes that 1/4'' steel comes in i need bigger than 4 x 8 and don't want to weld them together i am having a tank rolled 30'' round 90'' long thanks

It may be a bit difficult to find a shop that can roll anything 90 inches long. The shop where you have it rolled will get it for you in any sixe and shear what you need. When i ran a shop I did not like to form customers naterials as the mark up was in the sale of the steel. If I ruined a piece in forming It was my loss.

I'm a bit confused. If they roll it into a tank you are going to have at least 3 weld beads on it anyway. What is the difference if there are 4 instead?

here is a link to steel warehouse, they can do cut to lenght from mill coils in any size you need. you can also contact any large tubing and pipe suppliers and buy a lenght of tubing 30inch od x 1/4 wall in any lenght also. check for any drops that will fit your application instead of having them cut from a full lenght. central steel and wire is a good choice, also marmaon keystone tubing and pipe. they are nationwide companys. if you need an odd alloy, google delta centrifugal corporation, they make chill spun castings in all types of alloys.

Pipe could probably work but I'd bet it would be more expensive than rolling a shell and welding it. 90" isn't that wide. Lots of 8' and wider rolls out there. What are you building? Does it need hemispherical heads on the end(s)? A shop up here can roll up to 11" thick plate heated to 1600 deg. or 7" thick plate cold. Dave
