Sure it does if the engine wasn't stuck.Bought a Farmall 300 from a friend, got it delivered and found the engine stuck.Had some other issues so I didn't try to start it at the dealership.A trusted tech and friend said it ran good for him. Sat there for about 6 months with the muffler covered before I bought it.

Pulled the plugs and shot some ATF in the cylinders.Going to try some Hagen's Brew next(1/2 ATF & 1/2 Acetone). What do you find that works best to unstick an engine ?

That brew should work. I would pull the sparkplugs and see if you can borrow a borescope light I would take a look inside each cylinder to see how bad they're rusted. You may need to pull the head and oil pan and use some kerosene or diesel fuel in each cylinder and set one cylinder on fire. Don't do this near a building or around anything flammable. You probably need to pull gas tank. Unbolt the rod and use a piece of oak and a big hammer and drive out the rod and piston. I think I would contact the dealer and tell him about the engine being stuck. Hal

If it is going to free up ATF should do the trick but if it is not nothing in the world will free one up other then taking it apart. I have had very good luck with ATF and will stick with it unless I find something that works as good and cost less LOL. I have found turpentine and ATF mixed 50/50 works well also but fining turpentine in my area is hard to do and it costs around $12 a gal.

Msb, this is just a thought so take it as such. Is it possible someone tried to start this tractor and the starter drive is stuck and not the engine? I know these tractors will do that sometime. But if you say it is stuck I will believe you. Mike

I did Hal and he said bring it back. I don't want to bring it back.lol. One person rigged up an old sparkplug with a grease zerk. Says he finds a cylinder near the top and starts pumping. Another guy says he has unstuck several by hooking up a hydraulic hose to a similar setup and uses another tractor or Portapower to break them loose. In either case the rocker arms have to be loosened up.

Just a side comment, for what its worth, but over the years I've bought and traded for quite a few things.
Don't ya' just love how they all "run good" until ya get 'em home.
And ya always get told its somethin simple keepin 'er from startin', so ya go on trust.
Hasn't happened everytime, but enough that when it does anymore I truly just have to laugh about it...
