2 widgets of the same type

1) US (or country of your choice) brand, that is either assembled in china or assembled in the US with chinese parts but is "made in US"

2) produced and assembled in china and says "made in china"

the chinese, in order to build up their reputation, are going to put their cheap parts and flunkies to work on the US stuff and put the cream of the crop to work on the made in china stuff.

Needed a double light switch the other day. Went to the storeand there was a house brand (13 bucks and prolly china) a German brand (18 bucks??) and a no name that had made in china on the sticker on the clear plastic bag for 4 bucks

Was looking and trying to see through packages if my covers would fit all 3 brands when a hero comes up and assists me. Tells me my covers will only fit the german brand (if I take the others, I'll need new covers.

Pay my 18 bucks, go home and install the switch. Flip it a couple times and it locks up. Take it back out and scratch my head to see if it was something simple and see that it was a different brand than the old one but covers still work. Mustered all my people skills and went back to the store with BOTH switches. Grabbed hero and we went to the switches. First showed him that all was the same as far as covers. Grabbed some more of the german switches and started playing with them and 2 others locked up. Got my money back and got the 4 buck china switch and life is good.

Done now.

The "made in the us" switch is supporting a ceo who makes 500 times what his US workers do. He's earned that, cutting cost wherever possible!! You sound like the kind of commie that wants to screw with my medicare!!!

Friend of mine is a retired NYPD detective sergeant who still lives in Brooklyn. He says that they've been making clothing labels in New York for years that say "Made in the USA" on them. When the clothing comes in from China or where ever, the labels are attached. It's a technicality because even though the garment was made overseas, the label was made here and that's what it says. On the label.

If you don't work for it, you don't meed it it and re not entitled to it

Put that in your pipe and smoke it mister!!!!!!!!!!

Same store has it's 40th anniversary this year. Been giving out little stickers kinda like the S&H greenstamps when we were kids. Fo an example, 10 of them would get you a tapemeasure that they sell in the store for a buck.
I bought about a hundred bucks worth of stuff that SWMBO thought was the wrong color. Took it back and the person wasn't going to give my money back because I did't have the stamps with me. I flipped............ Got the store manager and he agreed with the cashier, got his boss on the phone and finally got my money back (don't know if it was because I made a good point or he didn't understand my bad German

It was neither your making a good point nor your proficiency in German but it is the way in which more than one German gets his/her way: flip.

So if I am a CEO making big bucks and I come up with a way to send most of the core middle class jobs away from this country, you think I am a hero? Sounds like slow communism to me and much more effective than any terrosit act. What better way to weaken and destroy any country than to cut them where they bleed and then celebrate!
Oh I forgot, if you owned stock in this company and made a bundle through my bad decisions, then it "does not matter" to you.
