OT somethings are wrong, and then others are WRONG!

If I should become wheelchair-bound, many of my activities will be curtailed. To the point that I will have MANY EXTRA HOURS to practice with my handgun, so I WON"T MISS if someone tries to mess with me. And I can't imagine any judge denying my my right to self defense by whatever means necessary, if I'm confined to a wheel chair.

In Canada, if you defend yourself with a gun, you automatically are the perp, and the robber would be the victim, even if you're the one in the wheelchair.
What an bass-ackward country this is.

Also in Omaha several years ago, two goons entered a pawn shop with the intention of robbing it. One of the goons held a gun to the head of one of the co-owners. The other co-owner simply pulled a pistol from under the counter and opened fire.

It killed one of the goons and permanently paralyzed the other.

No charges were ever filed, but the shop closed about six months later from the trauma and memories of it.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out trying to rob a pawn shop with several hundred, or more, guns on hand is not a smart move.

Greg, are you familiar with 42nd and Bedford in Omaha? About 20 years ago, I was an outside salesman for a private label auto parts company and worked Omaha two and a half days a week. One of our other salesmen set up an account at 42nd and Bedford and then expected me to call on the place.

I drove past it, and when I got back to civilization, I called the boss and told him, "If Tom wants to do business in that neighborhood, he can call on them himself. I wouldn't get out of my van without wearing a sidearm and if you think I'm kidding, drive past the place yourself".

I did call on a shop at 53rd and Ames. Kinda on the fringes, but I made good money out of the place.

Goose, I live right between Cumings and Dodge on 44th Street. 42nd and Bedford is about a mile from my house. It does seem better on the South side of Cumings. Greg

Recent case near Cincinnati, there was a home invasion robbery, the two crooks were armed, when the home owner decided they were going to kill him, he grabbed a gun and shot both of them. Killed one, wounded the other. The survivor is being charged with murder because a death occurred in the commission of a crime.

That's justice.

Guy broke into a house here in the Madison WI area a couple months back. The owner heard him break in and met him on the stairs with a 12 gauge. He admitted right to the cops that he didn't warn the intruder, just shot him dead. I remember thinking as the story broke that he was gonna go to prison, especially since it happened in the Madison area. Good news is he was never charged. I also remember laughing when I read that the Fiancee of the intruder said he was a very nice person and would never hurt anyone. Really? Why was he breaking into a house?!?
