Those old Gleaners sure get the job done right. Ain't that a sickening sound though, when you hear the tank running over and hitting the back of the cab. Looks like a real clean job under difficult conditions.

"Ain't that a sickening sound though, when you hear the tank running over and hitting the back of the cab"

It seems like every time I heard that sound I had looked at the bin a few minutes before and decided I could make one more round and then dump. Oops!

98 at noon, supposed to hit 101 this afternoon. We had something like 70+ straight days over 100 last summer, so this summer has been a little cooler until last week.

I know nothing about western Nebraska, but that sure looks like a good crop to me! What is yield looking like, compared to average?

Hey! I live just six miles outside Saranac Lake! And yes, it is true, the Chamber of Commerce did try (unsuccessfully thanks to the FAA) to get the thermometer at the airport "adjusted" a few years ago to encourage more people to visit, and scare fewer away from the "Coldest spot in the nation". Watch the end of "The Hunt for Red October". Therein you will hear reference to Saranac Lake being the coldest spot in the nation once again.
