Tractor Memories

Driving my old 800 Ford at the hunting club yesterday it dawned on me why I enjoy it so. The sound makes me feel like a kid again. You know how sounds and smells bring back memories. Dad had an 800 when we were kids and I remember driving it when I was about 10. Though not the first tractor (Granddad"s 8n) I ever drove, but one I spent a good bit of time on. I even rebuilt the engine later. Great memories of a simpler time.

I agree, 50 or so years ago each brand had a distinctive sound, about as distinctive as their paint. And with a lot of brands it was fun comparing them and seeing the new models-- more interesting than new cars I thought.
