Farmall Super C front tires replacement

I have a farmall super c that is for work pruposes--not show purposes. I am always having trouble with those 2 front tires and their tubes going flat. I put in new tubes which went flat a wek later. And is expensive to keep going this route. Is there a better, more modern alternative to those tires/tubes that were standard on the tractor? Can I use regular tires/wheels?

Next time you have tire off, take a regular cotton ball and lightly drag it all around inside of tire. I bet you got thorns or something else barely poking through tires.
Cure: install rims capable of running tubeless tires and Slime them or foam fill.

Hedge apple was always the demon around here, more so than honey locust. I had a tube once on a 9N Ford that had 19 patches on it before I threw it away and bought a new tire and tube. I've heard guys say to take needle nose pliers and pull them on through but, they always broke off. Without that sharp point they didn't seem to penetrate the tube again. I think they used to have boots to help the situation...it was a liner that went around the inside of the tire before putting in the tube. If I were you, I'd go around the inside and break off the ones sticking through and try it again. Sometimes when a tire gets loaded with them, its best to go to the tire store....to keep from biting a hole in your lip. ohfred

I believe I would put slime in the tires. They make slime for both tube type and tubeless tires. Filling the tires with foam some say works, but I would imagine it would be hard to get the tire off when worn out. Keith

Because of problems with thorny locust I bought recapped 3 rib steel radials from a local tire supply shop. Never had another flat.
Because of the size of your tires this may be difficult but it would be worth a try.

Go tubeless. Bought two new 5.5/16 3 tread fronts for my H at TSC, and they "Tubeless" on them, I was surprised. Took them to a tire shop I frequent and asked what they thought, said they'd remount them with tubes if they didn't hold. Holding just fine. Didn't think those old rims would work with them, but they sure seem to. Anyone else done this?

Take them to town and have them filled with foam, it will run about 50.00 per tire but no more flats.
