Why....Can we stand up for the truth..It's a shame that the radio won't play this song....Diamond Rio song being banned from the Radio
Diamond Rio song being banned from the Radio The song you are about to listen to is from a Las Vegas Diamond Rio concert.. They received an immediate resounding standing ovation, and continue to do so every time they perform it! Sadly, major radio stations wouldn't play it because it was considered 'politically incorrect'. Consequently, the song was never released to the public.. So America , see what you think.. If this offering speaks to your heart and you feel you want to share it with friends and loved ones, please do.

Please post this everywhere you go... It's time to stand up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9_bP219ehQ

It may be politically incorrect with a lot of people.... but I'd expect you don't hear it on commercial radio simply because it's of no interest to anyone other than a DR fan... thus there's no money to be made from playing it.
For a very large swath of the public it would be reason enough to hit the 'seek' button... 5900 views on youtube since last fall is not exactly a big following.

Rod.....I kindly choose to disagree with you and your reasoning. The Utube video I just watched had 321,837 views. I did however find the one you refer to. It's the same song, with a different video.

How does it feel to be played for a fool?

Of course even in the face of all the evidence to the contrary, you will probably stuff your fingers in your ears and shout "NO NO NO!" and insist it's true.

My favorite part is how PRESIDENT external_link is behind the song being censored. In 2005???? external_link was a newly-elected junior SENATOR when this whole "controversy" started. nnalert were in charge of all facets of government until 2006. If any sitting president is responsible for "censoring" the song, it would be your hero and mine, good ol' Dubbya.

How about the song was never released as a single by the band because it sucks? You can fart into the microphone, and get a standing ovation from the right audience.

(quoted from post at 10:52:54 06/08/10) I didn't know that Snopes was still an accepted source.
Maybe, maybe not.....

Personally, I'm not crazy about diamond rio..... As far as the song goes, I don't care one way or the other. I have my faith and patriotism all by myself without a bunch of clowns trying to make money off it. After listening to the song, I guess I wouldn't put it on any radio station that wanted to have the reputation of playing good music. I'd proudly post the lyrics and hope for someone that could sing to perform it.

Kinda like back in the day when a lot of stations wouldn't play "The Pill" by Loretta Lynn. Considered immoral. I remember the first time I heard it back then was on Hee Haw.

Reminds me, a few evenings ago our local PBS station had a program showing the "4 Troops", a gal and 3 guys, all who've served in Iraq. They are excellent singers and they do some patriot/religious songs. You can find them on UTube.

This is a tragedy! A disgrace! Not a one of the miserable little hick-run stations in the US of A will play that song? None of the thousands of stations run by self-ordained preachers with badly colored wavy hair and funny accents play that song?

Do you mean to tell us that Fox News won't even play it? Well, send your money to this address and receive the blessings of the true believers.

If we get enough money we can buy a radio station of our very own and we kin play all that kind of stuff. Then would you be happy?

thanks for that ...the only thing that is going to save this country is prayer to the one & only GOD...take care ...Kent

I can see it being played on religious radio but I wouldn't expect to hear it on mainstream stations, it's about religion.

I am surprised by comments like those of mkirsch. I shed a lot of blood sweat and tears forty years ago for just the very reasons that they,Diamond Rio, are singing about. I don't care what religion you are, even if that is none, but don't belittle the beliefs that helped establish this country. If you don't believe me read the writings of the founding fathers: Jefferson, Washington, Adams, and many of the others. THEY ALL had a deep belief in GOD and they all knew of the weakness of mortal man.

I would have to agree with you since most of my class either enlisted or were drafted including me during the Korean War. Hal
