Felt like an American Picker

Geez,I went to a good sized farm auction yesterday where the guy had quite a stock of new parts on hand. Bought quite a bunch of boxes of parts for anywhere from 3 to 5 dollars a box.Spent a whopping $33 on all of them altogether. I sorted everything out today and I'll bet there's $500 worth of parts there easy. Sealed bearings and lock collars, wheel bearings, new haybine parts, chain links,u-joints,New Holland shear pins,bolts,o-rings,hydraulic swivels and fittings, electrical parts...... It was like Christmas going through those boxes! Not to mention I got 2 big gear pullers for $15 for the pair and a near new sand blaster and a hundred plus pounds of sand for another $15.
I needed a good end to the week after the way I've been getting nickle dimed for repairs.

I love auctions--especially when you discover all the "treasures" when you get home. I didn't look through all the buckets and missed a whole pail of fence clips that sold for three dollars. Another time I passed on a home-made dog trailer that sold for $130.00 that could have easily brought 3 or 400 in the right circles. I'm too tenative when I bid, and then stew for a day or two becuase I didn't bid. But I keep going to auctions.

Considering what I hear of the MI economy, a feller deserves that once in a while. Don"t feel guilty for an auction bargain- if you hadn"t bought it, the second bidder would have, for less money to the seller. That"s what auctions are for.

btdt went to an auction where selling a 1948 oliver 88 guy had it bought for about $700 i thought an't no way he's getting that 88 for that kind of money so i started bidding i quit at $1500
i should have kept as that 88 ran like a dream had good sheet metal original paint was faded maybe a good wax job was all it needed
oh 1948 was year mrs 730 and i were born

If you keep buying distributor caps, you are not
getting nickel and dimed. You are getting $1 and
$5 to death.

Gotta Love That! I hate when your standing there and the hammer drops and You spend the next week kicking your self for not bidding. Good Job.
