A tractor is even here....

I took a Mediterranean cruise last week that had Rome as one its visiting places and specifically St. Peter's Square at the Vatican. And what do I see in the middle of the square but a tractor and wagon holding crowd barriers. It's a New Holland. I don't know.....just didn't think I'd see a tractor in the middle of Rome.

Did you notice ?,they Use Farm tractors like semi trucks in Europe..And .The independant Taxis LOL.. will get you Anywhere FAST in the city of ROME . We Visited the Vatican with my Lovely Sicily born Sara ( Rosaria ) the weekend of Palm Sunday 2007 .went down in the catacombs . Wonderful experience i shal remember Always ... Rode the train thru the beautiful Italian Countryside down toward Messina ,(ITALY safe Guards their FarmLand ) Ferry Boated ,train and All across to Messina ,Sicily ..,Ended train trip at Catania .. , drove to Caltagirone , to stay with Sara's WONDERFUL Folx , And on GOOD FRIDAY went to Sara's Sisters Place at ENNA to be a part of the Major FUNERAL Procession for Jesus Christ , awesome experience .,, Sara stayed an additional 2 weeks, And I returned alone as planned ,,The ROME Airport was stacking planes in the Sky as we approached on a Beautiful Sunlit Mid morning , Flying Low over the Colloseum , Vatican,The old aqueduct snaking and disjointing in places ,and so many excellant postcard perfect views... then circling up into the lakes region before landing ... It Moved Me to tears , trying to digest entire Vacation that was soon ending ,the Loving caring ancient culture that is timeless , Leaving My precous new Wife behind with her folx to face the trip home alone , Compounded by the fear for her Flying HOME ALONE across the ocean, and the Enormity of the View of arial Rome ,Sacred , ancient ,timeless , And Yet VERY Vibrant . ( and realizing Again ,What Early on I had learned ) My Sara IS Always Right , I should had kept the camera in my pocket instead of packing it in my Luggage ..lol.. woul'dnt mind a chat with you about YOUR trip , ,. Nice pics--visited there a few years back..amazing how much wealth is sheltered behind those walls..I always wondered where they keep all the really "good stuff"....

On another trip to Turkey, we were out and about and saw a New Holland Dealer in a small town in the middle of an agricultural area....kept my eyes open and saw quite a few of the old N series tractors still being used alongside the newer models....

I was in Athens at the Acropolis a few years ago and there was a New Holland there.

Some nice looking buildings there, but way too many people around for my liking. Nice blue sky. What was the temperature like that day? Very good photos.

You'd be surprised how close agriculture is to big cities.Not the suburbs like we are used to.
