I didnt go so close to the edge with the tractor this time ,I used the weed wacker, didnt like some of the storys I heard of going to close to the edge, thanks for the advice

I dont have one but that would be the best., and I dont want to borrow the neighbors, in case I break it. what would one be worth at a farm sale? ( I know thats a stupid question )
 
Yep, sickle mower. After your once-around with the weed wacker & clean banks, mowing that with a tractor should be a breeze. You already know the contour & how close you can get. I'd reccomend a pitmanless sickle mower, like an IH or a New Holland or whatever color you like. Auctions would be a good start; priced between $300 & $750 depending on shape & condition.
 
Hate to be a wiseass but have to ask. What the heck is that green stuff in rows up on the distant bank?
 
I think your talking about the no till corn the neighbor planted in our field, it is just starting to come up and the weeds will die later then it will look better I will post pictures later on in the season, it does not look so good righr now ., Iagree
