20 foot frail mower

If you're not smart enough to know it's a FLAIL mower, you probably shouldn't criticize the rest of us.

WHY not post the model # in the first post?

Are the parts no longer available from Deere or don't you like their price?

Well JD makes many models so if you do not fill in the gaps in the info we can not help you. Pure and simple with out more info it is impossible for use to help you

News flash: NOBODY knows what you're talking about.

There is no such thing as a fRail mower!!!

Frail means easy to break. So you have a 20 foot mower that's easy to break.

Maybe that's true, but I'm sure John Deere marketing wouldn't want to advertise that their mower is easy to break.

Do you mean fLail mower? There is such a thing as a flail mower.

Flail means swing around in a circle. Flail mowers have a bunch of blades on a shaft that swing around in a circle.

How about YOU know what you're talking about before you ask the question?

For your part, have you tried a John Deere dealer?

Ya know, sometimes my messages come out a little sharp, and I tend to be to the point & step on people's toes a little - don't mean that, just not so good with my people skills with typed words..... And I can't spell worth a darn, and as I age I see my fat fingers have more troubles hitting the right keys.

I sure ain't any gift to the internet, I know that.

But, gee, when a person comes on & asks a question, and people want to help - even if the jab a person a little bit as they ask for more info.....

You would think the person would be big enough to help out by supplying more info?

You can find one at a John Deere dealer.

If you are looking for 3rd party sources or good used unit, you'd have to supply a little more info to help that along.... If it's so old you don't know the model, then a big or little 1000rpm shaft, does it use the standard splines or something different, or.... You know, helpful info.

And, it really is called a flail mower, if yours broke I suppose you want to refer to it as frail mower, but that ain't the name of it.

Probably best not to cast stones when you started out with the mistake. Lot of good people started to answer your question, they probably won't make that mistake again.

Just sayin'.

JD should have the parts...visit a dealer or look them up on line. If it"s a slip clutch you may be able to match the discs with generic parts. Try a brake/clutch lining place. I assume you mean flail mower, but the flails I have seen have a horizontal shaft with blades, usually on chains, side arm or rear mounted....never seen a 20 footer though. Do you mean a batwing type mower?

You don't need to worry about John Deere marketing because he is not talking John Deere He is talking John Deer. We all know that while deer are nimble and quick, they are by no means tough or solid, or anything of that nature.

I have an oxygen sensor that I think is bad .What do I do ? Yanno , I have been somewhat cynical lately . Some of these posts and replies are just crazy. There is a wealth of information to be found on here with just a keystroke .Some of the replies have no clue at all . If you don't know , don't just throw out some wild # guess. and don't cop an attitude if someone ask's an often repeated or stupid question / there are no stupid questions ! There are a lot of folks that come here for knowledge that we ALL have to share about ALL topics . Don't browbeat them because they don't know , or slame someone because their answer is not quite right . On the other hand , if your not sure don't just guess and tell eveyone they need a new oxygen sensor , etc ! On the other hand , THINK before you ask a question . If it sounds like a scam , it is ! Or any other often repeated question , folks tend to get tired of trival questions that could be answered by common sense . My two cents . Like any internet forum , the anynonymity seems to take away politeness that would be present face to face .
