O.T. 91 chevy 1500 heater

I apologize for this being off topic, but I need help.
The 'motor' that opens the recirculating air duct door in my '91 chevy pickup just thumps. It looks like an electrical part, not a vacum dashpot. Anyone have any experience changing this? How many screws are at the top? If I can get the screws out, does it just slide off the door shaft?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks!
Kelvin

There's 2 screws, then it slides off of the shaft.

Check to be sure the damper operates freely (no shotgun shells or pens or hair clips lodged in it) before installing a new motor.

IIRC, all 3 of the climate control system servos LOOK the same but have different part numbers and don't interchange. Be SURE you get the correct part # for the specific servo you are replacing.

(One is for "outside air or recirc", one is for temp control and one is for "mode" (heat, defrost, AC, upper or lower vents, etc.)
