Garden tilling

I've tilled over 60 gardens this year...and expect to average a couple more a day thru the end of May. This year I have added over 25 new gardens already. My rate is 40 x 40 for $40... up to 100 x 100 for 100....so basically the square root of the area determines the cost. I run a Allis Chalmers 175D (sheet metal is off of the tractor I just wore out - as it was setup for an orchard) and Howard 5' Rotovator. It is practically unstopable.

Rear view of the Howard Rotovator...this is a HD 3pt hitch unit that runs off the pto...weighs close to 1000#. It will work this 65 hp tractor when tilling up sod....second pass will till about 12" deep.

Chris here is a pic of my 170/175 line of tractors....I gross (on average) $1000 per tank of fuel with these Perkins powered tractors. They are very efficient!

Hey Eldon
I see 8 tractors .Where's the other 52?Looks like a nice set up and I'm sure it keeps you busy. Are you getting any help with the school garden?Did you get the corn in?Looks like summer is finally on it's way.Needed a little warmth to get things growing.Keep the dirt turning. You need to throw a little green into all that orange. Thanks for the pics.BlaineF(WA)

Here's a little green...a JD MX8 mower on a 175D. Even with fluid in the 9.5L-15 fronts and front weights I have to back it on the trailer. I can cover a lot of ground with this rig and it is nice and stable in the hills with the wheels set out to 8'.
