OT,,arctic cat 650 atv, carb question

ok guys, I know this is a little OT, but I have neighbor that has hos arctic cat 650 4wheeler in my barn fixing it, It was supposed to be a quick day or 2 job, but is dragging on.

Hwe origainally had the carb off to clean it,a nd then had to replace the choke cable assy,,

he put it all together and it wouldnt stay running, it would for a second or 2 with teh choke on,, but thats it,, I know it sounded like a fuel problem, we put a shot of gas in the carbs and it ran, until that gas ran out,

while looking around at things , hoses, lines, electric connections and such, [thought maybe a sensor?] we noticed that a hose was disconnected on the left side of the motor [sitting on the unit the drivers side] it turns out to be a check valve , I looked it up on the site and they show it to be a check valve,-----

it comes off the right side of the carbs and tees into this line that has the check valve at the end ,, it shows in the site it is attached to another hose but thats it,,

the second hose coming off the end of the check valve is not this one so it must still be attached to something, my question finnally is where . if anywhere does this check valve connect to,, I think it needs to connect to some sort of vaccuum sorce, as it ends at the carbs, I am suspecting to be the suction for the gas ???

any ideas, thanks,, the hose in question is # 50 to 59,,59 is not there,, this is the one I need to locate thje final destination for,, hope this helps, pat

(quoted from post at 14:33:41 05/05/10) # 58 looks like an in-line filter so 59 would be the line from your tank.

thanks but it is a check valve, it looks like a in line filter on the diagram but it is not, thanks for thr reply though
