Compact Tractors: Who makes what? Where is X made?

We have a Yanmar 336d, which is an AMAZING tractor. Been thinking about supplimenting it with another compact unit.

What I am looking to learn, is where, and who make what.
I recently purchased a Zero Turn mower, and after much research, found that if there are 30 brands, that there are only about 15 people that actually PRODUCE them, half are just a re-badge.
Gravley is Arens, Toro is an ExMark with a different deck, ect.

That in mind, I have looked at a lot of models personally, and a LOT of them look to be made by the same MFG.
The Bobcats look very much like a Kubota.

From what I understand, only John Deere, New Holland, and Kubota are the only ones that are of that name.
The rest, such as Bobcat, Yanmar/Cub Cadet, ect are all just rebadges of other makes.

Anyone have any insight as to who makes who, and who is just a rebadge?

I have seen John Deere engines in other brands, & Yanmar has something to do with Deere as well. I think it might have been a Montana that had a few models of Deere engines; But cant remember for sure. Some of the Fords from the 70's, & 80's are being built today under Montana, & Long; but are boasting more comfortable operators platforms. The Fords You stradled the transmission; But on Montana...not anymore!!!

The compact John Deeres have been rebadged Yanmars for many years (at least back to the 1980's). I believe the Ford (now New Holland) compacts are Shibauru(sp?) tractors. Kubotas are Kubotas, and I don't think they are rebadged under any other names.

Toro owns ExMark and Wheelhorse so that is a natural rebadge/upgrade set up there. We used to make the bagger tops for Wheelhorse and had an ExMark insert for the mold to make the same top for Exmark too.

CaseIH/NH compacts of today are made by ISM (Shibura). Deere is selling repainted Yanmar's. Not sure what the Challenger/Agco stuff is today. In the past, certain lines were Iseki's. Some were Toyosha's... and I think some were probably Mitsubishi.
Kubota is Kubota...

After owning 5 compact tractors, first one in 1977 and always having one since I myself would only buy one of three brands. Deere,Kubota, or New Holland-CIH. It would depend upon dealer availablity in your area. Although you shouldn't need much service or parts as long as you take care of your tractor. This is only my opion based on my experience and I'm sure there are others who will disagree with me.

In my area John Deere and Kubota are bigger sellers then any of the others and they hold a better resale value. The other advantage is there are more dealers for the John Deere and Kubota, within a one hour drive there are 10 plus dealers for each, the John Deere and Kubota. I can't speak for other models but I know from owning myself and knowing many other owners the John Deere and Kubota they both are very dependable. Not sure who makes what anymore and sad part is they are not USA made.

tHE BOB CAT THAT YOU ARE SEEING IS A KIOTI REBADGED ..DAYWOO OWNS KIOTI AND BOB CAT..
KUBOTA IS PURE THEIR IRON, THEIR DESIGN, THEIR ENGINES..THE ONLY WAY TO GO IN A COMPACT..SOME AREAS THEY HAVE 26 % OF THE COMPACT MARKET.

AS for Zero-Turn mowers, I looked at them all and bought a Hustler. Made in Hesston Kansas USA. Been excellent mower, very well built. Tom

In compacts:
TYM/Montana/Landini/LS/Farmtrac sell the same models.
Bobcat is Kioti which is Daedong everywhere else in the world.
CNH sell the same models in two colours, they are japanese.
Kubota is kubota.
JD was yanmar but I've heard they are producing some of their own
small engines now. Who knows.
The chinese ones are still junk.

Deere switched to their own factories with the compacts starting in 2005. Before that they used Yanmar. I think that was about the time that the Yanmar-Cub Cadets appeared.

I just bought a Kubota L3400 HST. Not a real fancy tractor, but 4wd, QA loader. I figure it will be the last one I'll buy. I looked at JD, Kioti, and New Holland. The Kubota seemed to be the best deal. The Kioti seemed to be ok, but the dealers were all pretty much a shoestring operation. When I spend that much money, I want to know that the dealer will there in the future.

Maybe this a good time to ask. I heard my Kubota 125 is put together in Georgia. And maybe some parts are actually made down there? Not sure. My little one definitely has a "Made in Japan" sticker on it. Could someone tell me about the plant or operation in Georgia?
