6 to 12 volts

I have a 6 volt JD tractor that needs lights. I cannot find decent 6 volt lamps but many 12 volt lamps are available. Is there a dc inverter that can convert 6vdc to 12vdc for the lamps only?

amps are too much power to be practical for a converter. You just haven't found the right sources...nearly any imaginable 6v lamp is out there somewhere.

Any good parts store should be able to order you what you need. Ya they may not have them in stock but they can have them in a day or 2 BTDT many times

Tons of six volt sealed beam lamps out there. They are now most often used on battery powered building emergency lights.
Any parts store can cross reference the head and tail lights from a 1959 JD model 430.

Put em in series until one burns out. Should give you plenty of time to make plans. 3 tractors going on ten years that way. Dave
