Hey folks,
lookin for a name and source. Looking for the name for black plastic waterline used for wtaer supply. What I have is 25mm. Fittings are outrageous here so ordering from the States is gonna save me a bunch. They are screw together (compression ring? type).

Can someone point me in the right direction with a link? Black pipe and fittings.

Thanks, Dave

We put in black plastic to a new barn 30 years ago. No problems at all. For safety sake, we put three pipes in the below frost line trench (6 feet) and used one with the other two capped. Still on the same line. Fittings were hardware store standard. Here in stores by the boxful. 25 mm is 1 inch, so very common.
Good Luck. Where are you located?

Germany.... Any chance there is a link to where I can buy what I'm looking for (elbows, T's , and stops) Cheapest thing here is about 10 bucks.

What the water companies use is Isco Co. HDPE pipe. The pipe is not all that expensive but the seams are all fused and the fittings are expensive. Comes in 500 ft rolls.
It supposedly will not freeze and burst even on the top of the ground, nor will sun rot it. I put in 3000 feet, of 2 inch underground. Isco has an extensive tech support operation. I hired a guy from the local water co. to install mine on the weekends. So far so good. Try Isco-pipe.com

I've been told that plain old black pipe won't last very long. Digging up underground leaks is an expensive and time consuming chore. Better to spend the money up front than to chase leaks the rest of your life. Been there done that.

I had a line freeze once, the cast iron elbow broke, but the black plastic didn't. Really tough stuff.

If I knew you better I"d go to Menards and get em for you, could you maybe contact them and have them shipped.

if youre talking about the black coils of pipe,i had bad luck with it because of gophers...they love chewing it up...i switched to pvc and havent had anymore problems.
not sure what kinda creepy crawlers you got in the ground over there but wanted to give you a heads up jic.

Sure sounds like 1 inch black polyethylene pipe. Standard as heck, available in 100 psi, 160 psi and 200 psi ratings (with thicker walls). Not having gophers, I've had no trouble with it, and it sounds like you already have the stuff anyway. I do use the 160 rather than the 100 PSI simply to be more durable in the rocks, but leaks are almost always at poorly done fittings in my experience, or from careless backfilling.

Typical is this type of barbed fitting and a pair (on each side) of stainless steel (if you know what's good for you) hose clamps (bottom of the page) over the barbs on the outside of the pipe.

Other suppliers may have the plastic version of the fittings. This was just a quick look for a web site showing them. This is plastic ones if the link works.
