how many would pay a small fee to build an 8N FORD install nitrous oxide over bore motor install dual rear tires both filled with 100% calcium cloride!!!!!!!!!!!!! send him a free ticket and that being the only one!!!!!!!!! actually I do know he is correct and has really good advice, especially on electric,

Make sure you include ALL of the manuals!!

Just kidding - I enjoy his advice - most of it good - some of it out of my price range.

Actually i enjoy BD post. Although somewhat straghtforward, he knows what he is talking about. I respect that.
Thanks BD.

Well he KNOWS what a book tells him but not necessarily what real world is. Seem to see his personality type quite a bit in Canadians.

His knowledge and advice, like many on here such as F-I-T and others, are invaluable.
The rub comes in that he comes across like if you do not know as much as him, you are stupid.
If he is going to be on a board such as this and answer quations, he must be compassionate to things like the same person asking the same question more than once. (so what)
And also, the fact that someone may not own every manual that goes with these beast for various reasons.(that may be why they are asking a question)
It is a step down anytime he simply post the toll free number as an answer to a question. He has no clue how frustrasted this person asking may be.
Other than that, I still say he knows his stuff, just needs some etiquette lessons.

Never met him, but have exchangd several e-mails with him. I suspect an afternoon of visiting in the shop might be quite enjoyable. There are plenty of people offering advice that is given less thought and I suspect has less experience behind it than B&D.

Some find it difficult to "suffer fools lightly"- he knows an awful lot about a lot of subjects, and if he doesn't always handle everyone with kid gloves, well, differences in people are what makes the world go 'round. I, for one, welcome his input, and can take a couple lashes with a wet noodle once in awhile if I deserve it.

Not duals, but maybe something like this?

Gotta have full ROPS though, cuz them Ns are deadly predators, just lieing in wait for a human victim to climb aboard :)
Now I have not actually witnessed this in 57 yrs of aquaintance w/Ns..but I saw it on the Interweb,so it must be true........

I recognize and am glad that we are all a little different. It just escapes me as to how anyone can be so smart and not be familar at all with the term "humble".
With his vast knowledge, there are folks that know even more than him. I wonder how he would see it if one of them gave him a smart tailed answer to his serious question?
To take that a step further, he is one that reminds us that the manuals are not always exactly correct for one reason or another.
I admire his smarts, it is the delivery that could use a little polish.
It is like the best pizza in town being delivered by a guy that makes you feel like you should just learn how to cook. LOL

Get the Rolls-Royce turbine in there (with a big chrome stack) and we're starting to get it ;)

Needs bigger headlights for the right look.

One of those rears probably costs more than my last tractor...but I rather suspect the tractor becomes the weak link between such massive tires if you take it out and drive it, no?

All rib poke'n aside I think he would get a kick out of it. While I have quoted folks on this site many times, not many have stuck like "thick as a brick hick" as he called me a few weeks ago. I diserved it, but still to this day for my money I will use Ca in tires.

In the 5 or so years I have been hang'n out here B&D is one of top 10 favorite folks on here for sure.

Gonna give him the big head.........

Already have a Solar Turbine which was owned by IH at the time of it's manufacture. Cat owns Solar now.
It's one of those around to it projects with it's 225KVA generator.

Hey 730d, do you remember the country song that had the line in it that went, "oh Lord it's hard to be humble but I'm doing the best that I can"?

Don't worry, just cause a I like a guy don't mean I agree with him. About the only thing I agree with him about when it comes to old tractors is that a 4020 will do more work a day than an 8N.

And for the record I still wish I had my analog TV back.
