Massey Ferguson 35 - Hydrolic Lift Question

My MF35 hydrolic lift will not go down. When you lower the lever lift stays up. When you push two speed clutch all the way in the lift goes down. When you let off the clutch the regardless of position of lever the lift goes up. Please help.

When you push the two-stage clutch down all the way, the hydraulic pump stops turning. Sounds like you've got several problems, especially in the control valve. The hitch should either stay up, or go down, regardless if the pump is turning or not. Sounds like the lift cylinder is leaking off something awful, and . . . the control valve is letting oil flow to it all the time.

Thanks for the information. The lift for a long time drifts down when the engine is off, so likely the lift cylinder has been leaking for some time? I was using a scrap blade and hit a rock and the lift came up (draft engaged?) and since, it will not go back down properly. Looks like, maybe the control valve got stuck? Time for a hydrolic overall. Thanks again.
