Lasst spring I bought a 1989 2240. Have noticed people here have questions about the 2 cyls. and 4020"s etc. but have seen very few questions about a 2240. These were made for six years, just curious as to why so few questions. Are they that good, or are there few of them?

Well to start with you are on the wrong forum ..this one is for the two cylinder and new generation tractors...in other words most of us are old fogies...lol

First there were a lot more 2 cyl's & 4020's built than 2240's. 2nd the John Deere forum down below discusses more JD's than this Tractor Talk forum.

This is an antique tractor forum. The 2240 is no spring chicken, but still far more a working tractor than it is something that someone would bring to a show.

I am also pretty sure the 2040, 2240 and 2440 were made in Germany. There is a lot more focus on US made tractors.

I have a 2640 and it is a pretty handy machine. Would guess yours is as well.

Bought mine new in 1980. I've always found it a very user friendly tractor, built pretty tough and it still serves me well.

There's a question or 2 now and then about them on the Deere forum.
Now,if 2240s occupied the White House, then we'd talk about it here.
