OT Not an Old Barn, but Close

I enjoyed the pictures of old barns the other day.
This is not a barn, but instead, a photo of the creamery in our little hamlet of West Fulton, NY taken in 1914 or 1915. This was the third creamery built on this site, all of which burned to the ground. This one burned not too long after this picture was taken. It was a nice looking building.

BTW, the litle building seen in the background to the right is the one-room schoolhouse which I attended in the mid to late 40s. It was just across the "crik" from the old creamery foundation.

Yes, it is. They packed the ice in sawdust.
There was once an ice house on my Dad's farm but all I remember is the remnants of sawdust where my brother and I used to play when we were 4 or 5 yrs. old.

Ok, this is an old barn. Notice the style of the roof. I believe this was on a local farm because the picture was pulled from an album of
my wife's late grandfather. Unfortunately, we never got to ask him the location and I have not been successful in getting any of the older people around here to identify it either.

I have to get this photo posting thing down. At the farm museum I work at here in town we have an old barn about 36' by 120' built circa 1775. during the next year we are starting a $ 100,000 renovation on it.

the ice house on my farm is still standing. the interior walls are made from chestnut lumber. there sure aren't many original ice houses still around.
