Ford 1500 Tractor

A friend of mine just bought a Ford 1500 4x4.

I haven"t even seen it yet but he"s pretty excited and said it"s in good shape. Has 400+ hours on it and an Allied loader.

Any advice? Good features or bad?

Probably the worst feature on that series is the number of parts that's NLA. Just not enough of them to justify parts support. (or they just want to sell new ones!)

I think we are gonna see a lot more of that. Look at all the tractors being built under contract - the only ones not doing it are Kubota and Jinma.

I bought one in 1986 and was quite disappointed with it. Very underpowered in my opinion. I used it for about a year doing several projects I wanted to complete and then sold it for $100 less than I had paid for it. Worked for me.

I now have a 1720 which is the next size up and newer. No comparison at all. The 1720 will do twice the work the 1500 would. Well maybe not twice but you get the idea.
