After I finished cleaing my carb, glass beaded, I would like to spray a clear on it to keep it from rusting. What is the best gas resistant clear that you guys have found? Thanks

I too have sprayed my newly rebuilt and blasted cast iron carburetors with clear acrylic. It will prevent rust but will turn a yellow-brown tint with time.

If you have a model car / plane store nearby ask them for the hot fuel proof spray paint. It will not be affected by the gas or heat.

Have to disagree with Lou on recommending the eastwood clear. I had bad luck w/Eastwood clear.

Used it on an intake manifold and a supercharger. They both started turning yellow after about 2 years. Suppose to be good to something like 1200F which I know an intake don"t even get close. Heck my header temps were only 900F.

Hopefully you"ll have better luck with it.

Here"s a pic of the supercharger. It use to be the same color as the scoop and valve covers.
