On the sixth day God turned to the Archangel Gabriel and said: "Today I am going to create a land called NEBRASKA. It will be a land of outstanding natural beauty. It shall have tall majestic landscapes full of buffalo, tall grass, beautiful skies, forests full of elk and deer, rich farmland and fair minded people." God continued, "I shall make the land rich in resources so as to make the inhabitants prosper. I shall call these inhabitants CORNHUSKERS and they shall be known as a friendly people."

"But Lord," asked Gabriel, "don't you think you are being too generous to these NEBRASKANS?"

"Not really," replied God "just wait and see the winters I am going to give them!"

I'm not in favor of "external_linkCare", but I'm pretty sure every Congressional vote in favor of it, from each and every state, was paid for with some form of high dollar "pork". Nelsons' vote just happened to be the swing vote, and was not supported by most Nebraskan's. And I'm also pretty sure, that all taxpayers, from all states, taxpayers of present day, and of many generations to come, will be footing the bill for all of it. Just my $.02 as a Nebraskan, since politics had to be brought into the thread. :roll:
 
The ear marks in the health bill are out standing in the Neb fields. This one is just a drop in the bucket when all are added up. How many new AK bridges?
