Tailgate sanders for salt/sand questions

Those sanders that go in the recese hitch. Are they any good, do they work well? Some say they are only for salt material. They can cost up to $4000. Where could one get a used one. Let er rip boys.

The salters that go in a Reese hitch work fairly well for dry material and smaller quantities. 2 stage tail gaters can spread sand as well. New, single stage and 2 stage run from under a grand to around 2 grand. For $4000, you can have an 8' V box that sits in the bed of the truck and spread bulk salt/ sand. I've used both, and prefer the V box because I don't have to handle bagged product and can load between 2 and 3 ton per load. Look on E-Bay and your local Craig's List for used ones.
