Thought it'd be interesting to see what tractors people here have had over the years. My experience goes back to 1948. Special memories of some or all would add to the interest.
Our (really my dad's, except for last one) tractors were:
F-20 Farmall on rubber--(mighty slow "road gear")
WC Allis Chalmers with hand brakes
Massy Harris 81--(a cutey)
Oliver 70--(the least "lugging ability of all")
Co-op E-3--(Low gear in low range was really slow. My dad took 2nd place in the light weight tractor pulling contest at the Indiana State Fair with this one. His first new tractor.
Case DC-3--(Had two of these, one with hand clutch. Very good tractors. Didn't mind the hand clutch at all.
John Deere 4020 gas--What a wonderful tractor this was. My dad bought it new in 1967. Believe he paid 7500 with 5 bottom semi-mounted plow. To me, this tractor is the Classic of all Classic tractors although the Farmall M and John Deere D are right up there with it.
Deutz 13006-- My dad bought 2 of these when new. Believe he had good luck with them.
John Deere 5020--This one's mine. Bought it cheap but later found out why. Familiar? Love the sound of that big diesel engine and those huge "standard" fenders. Have 30.5x32's on it.
Although not a farm tractor, we had a big International TD-24 Dozer back in the 70s'. Many big trees in fence rows came down with this one. Lots of fun but some hard work building-up sprockets and installing new track rails.
