Found a good tractor for Buickanddeere

Hey, that's good.

I saw an Oliver Super 55 painted JD green and yellow the other day- how sad- and it was a great paint job, someone put a lot of effort into it. Didn't go so far as JD decals, however.

Now that's one good looking tractor.

Is it a 2 cylinder horizontal engine with a hand clutch?

Hand start or electric start?

Styled or unstyled?

Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm in for 10 bucks.......if 149 more of his friends will do the same, it can be his for Christmas; don't know about the shipping, though. Maybe Mike(WA), John T or Screaming Hollow will work out the details.......

What a waste of time, money and effort..I would imagine its probably the closest to owning a Deere he will ever get...

I was wondering about the authenticity of the tractor at first, but then I looked at the concrete and saw the oil spots. As a Deere owner myself, it looks like my floor too, so I guess its authentic Deere enough for me. Leaks, leaks, and more leaks. Can never have enough leaks though, except the Allis. The floor aint stained under it so much as its a slick, and that's why I always tell everyone, "Hey, no runnin around the Allis, you're liable to slip and hurt the concrete".

I hope I don't offend anyone, but I'm not interested in buying that thing. First time ever been to Craigs list thanks to the link. Might be the last time too though. Nothing personal intended.

never happen not enough room on it to carry all the manuals he would need to get it started most less the ones he would need be able to work on it

Now that's funny. I want to see a pic of his face when Santa pulls up to his front door on that thing!!!

This might be a common joke, but I've only seen it once personally. Years ago my uncle had some kind of John Deere tractor. A couple of my cousins painted over it and stenciled on Dear John in the place of John Deere.

Obviously you have no experience with an N series tractor with a Sherman tranny.

Wanna talk about something you are more familiar with like.....lawn mowers or something?

I had a 9n with a sherman. It still didn't make it a good tractor. It was fast in top gear if the weather wasn't too humid for it to run.

I'm in for $10! Shipping not included.

Just because I saw an Oliver Super 55 painted up goofy a while back!

Just got home and onto the computer 5 minutes ago. Don't have internet access from work anymore.

Looks like lipstick on a pig. It's an improvement but she's still a pig.

And Allis, Case, David Brown,Oliver, White,Cockshut,IH.....................
Did anybody copy the 540rpm pto and drawbar specs?

I overhauled o J.D.B in high school for our landlord, must have spent too much money because he did'nt buy J.D. paint. He went to the local hardware store and got what looked close. We drove a two cyl. Oliver for 20 yrs. It is behind the barn right now waiting to be restored.

Good story.

Here's what I find amusing/sad. The other day I saw a 9N on Craigslist. It had been restored, professionally painted etc. The trouble is that they painted it gray and red. If you are going to go to all the work of properly restoring a tractor you could at least do a tiny bit of research and find out that 9N's were ALL gray
