In Floor Heat

When they got mine up and running 5 years ago they used cistern water and a clear (don't know the brand) anti freeze. System works great but have had a couple issues with the electric boiler.

I would say the answer is somewhat dependent on what you are using for your heat source. You will need something thats compatible with that portion of the system.

We're building a house here shortly, gonna have geo-thermal with radiant floor heating, HVAC tech told me the fluid is a type of glycol.

It's a no-brainer. Simply get "antifreeze for hydronic system use".

Just about any supplier of hydronic system parts will have a source for it.
ONE source

Propylene glycol is the standard. I'm not sure why they don't use ethylene glycol (automotive anti-freeze). Propylene glycol is used as a food additive (yech!), so you might check out any local companies that sell bakery supplies to see if they carry it in large quantities.
