I have a Massey Ferguson 265 that is new to me. I think the transmission fluid is low. I need to know what type of fluid is used and how/where to check the level. I ordered a manual but wont be here for a few days and I would like to use it now. Also how much fluid does it hold? Thanks for any replies.

(quoted from post at 00:07:27 09/01/09) Dip stick behind your right foot.
Fill port is that large hex head just to the left of the main shifter.

Thanks got it.. I looked all over and it just blended in so well and didnt look like a distick to me. Checked it and it was OK. I knew where the fill was that was obvious...

When you do add oil to it, it calls for Massey Furgusson Perma Tran. The Current oil offered by AGCO is Perma-Tran 821XL. Any good hy-tran oil should work, but I have heard other guys say that other oils can make the multi-power act differently.

We buy oil in drums from our Massey dealer, and we use Perma-Tran in everything to keep it simple.
