Hyd hookup for forklift

A forklift is being advertised for a 3pth setup with a single hyd line. Apparently it is a one-way cylinder where gravity will drop the forks. So how would I hook this up to my pair of hyd hoses? Is there a check valve system needed that will allow bleedback along the single hose of the fork lift and sends it to my return line?

Depends on what you have. Most tractors that I know of you can just plug in the single remote and you won't have any problems. Other tractors like some Oliver's you need to make some simple adjustments that only take a minute.

My biggest concern would be oil capacity. A single acting forklift mast cylinder would probably require a lot of oil to raise it all the way. Some tractors only hold a few gallons.

Along with what Don said there is no check valve in the forklift. Your tractor valve would be the stop gate.

Oil goes in when you activate your lever and when you release the lever the valve will hold it there.

When you move your lever the opposite way the oil will flow back into your tractor.

Like Don said you may need a extra tank for more oil.
 
Depends on the diameter and length of the cylinder.

I'm betting 3 gallons is not enough. May take more like 5-8 gallons if the cylinder is more than 4" in diameter and longer than 36"

You may have to add an extra oil supply tank on your tractor.

Have sold a bunch of them and never had to add to hyd rev. However what most people don,t realize is>>>> The fork lift it will lift more than the tractor rear lift links so we see tractors with damage to the lower lift..You can only pick up what the tractor is rated for at the lift links LESS the weight of the fork lift mast. SO the lighter the mast the more you can pick up with the lift..Hard to make some people understand
