Farmall M 2 row mounted cultivator

Will a two row mounted cultivator for an M tractor fit right onto a Farmall H?

My neighbor has a cultivator and all I have is an H that my son uses for show purpose only and I think a cultivator all painted up would look very nice on it. Also is the cultivator all red and the shanks blue?

Any information is helpful and appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Could be way off but yes I think they fit. IH purposely built the H to the same length as the M so that implements could be interchanged.

1. yes, but the H frame is narrower, the gangs will have to be ajusted outward to be correct width. 2. Main front frame is red. springs and levers red, pushrods blue gang and gang lift blue, rear part blue, wrench red. Just asking, how much did you pay for it?. I have one Id like to sell but don't know what to ask for it.

Yep,

It'll bolt right to the H.

Cultivator is all red with the exception of the tool bars and clamps, which are blue and the shanks were black from the factory.

Hello Geeze,

I haven't bought it yet but I told him I would be interested. I'm going to offer him $50 for it.

I've seen them on ebay go for about $150 all complete and ready to go.

Install might include changing the location of the front mount plates, but that will have compatible holes in place already. The row spacing will depend on the rows planted, but are not affected by going from H to M or the reverse of that. The front tool bar (angle iron) is one piece. The rear sweeps might need to be tweaked to do a good job on the wheel tracks. There are two styles of standard Liftall cylinders, three tie bolt and 4 tie bolt. The 4 bolt are a tad bigger in diameter, and heavier duty. Both generally last for ever. (exagerated a little) JimN

The H is narrower. Depending on the cultivator model, there is probably a long angle iron across the entire unit. The brackets that bolt to the side of the tractor will work on either the H or the M. Since the H is narrower, the brackets bolt to it "turned out" and with the M, they are "turned in" to make it fit.

The one we had for our H (HM-221 I think), was a shifting gang (steering ) cultivator. To change it from an M to an H you swapped sides with the 2 front mounting brackets.
