Can not trust a weatherman

Should never trust a weatherman. Temperatures been running 100 to 111 hear in Oklahoma and they said more heat to come no rain forecast. Son laid down one field of irrigated third cutting Alfalfa late yesterday. It is 92 at 10 AM and predicted over 100 and know a 30 percent chance of rain tonight. Hope he can bale this evening. Can not win.

In regards to cutting hay. I never listen to the dope standing in front of the weather map. They will only give you their best guess which pretty much means they don't know.

When I am ready to cut hay I go in the house and log onto the nation weather sat. If there is any rain heading my way and I think it will hit me (in my own opinion) I hold off. If I think it will miss I cut.

That way if my hay gets wet it's my own dern fault. I rarely get hay rained on so I must be a pretty good weather man....

They been forecasting rain every other day for the last 4 weeks, never get any. Getting realreal dry here. It is what it is.

kretts, that the way i do it also, hate for those dolled up folks with the drama diploma to dictate my life. learned to read radars and sat. images and have become pretty good on determining which way weather is moving. fortunately, still can not do anything about the unpredictable pop up summer style storms.

Not only that but you are politically incorrect they would be a weather person today. You can tell about as much yourself learning to read the barometer, wind, humidity, clouds and sunrise just like the Native Americans did. No mechanical barometer needed either certain sticks cut off trees work well for barometers.

What other job could you have where you are wrong at least 50% of the time and still stay on the payroll?

We have probably had twice our normal rainfall already this year. Trouble is those 5-6" rains tend to all run off!
