Several weeks ago, I bought a new Z.T. Kubota diesel lawn mower. If I had known what these zero turn mower would do, I would have bought one years ago.
I cut my yard in a little longer then half the time. I have burn't less then 5 gallon of gas in ten hours of mowing!

Actually, you didn't burn any gas. You burnt deisel fuel.

Sorry... Couldn't resist....

Zero turn mowers are nice though. My brother has a 36" Skag walk behind w/ the sulky behind it to ride on, and that is a sweet mower.

Sorry it"t too late to edit my stupid mistake, but this is just my fourth one today, and that's good for me!

"Actually, you didn"t burn any gas." Isn"t that less than five gallons? suppos you could post a picture of the Skag(the mower) with the sulky?

Talk about saving money while cutting grass, John D Rockefeller had more money that everyone on this website put together and he used a special breed of goat around his big estate in Pocantico Hills, NY. Those goats had something about their front cutting teeth that made them ideal for keeping grass closely clipped while doing no damage. His entire golf course was maintained (fertilized too) by those goats.

WANTED ONE OF THOSE DEISEL KABOTA , BUT ENDED UP WITH A GRASSHOPPER 6 FT ZERO TURN AND A GAS KOHLER ENGINE.... GEE WIZZ..ITS BEEN A GOOD ONE TOO ,BEEN USEING IT SINCE 1992 WITH THE SAME BELTS ,I MOW ABOUT 5 ACRES.LUCAS

Boy if I didn't know any better I would say my father posted this.

He says the same exact thing all the time. Seems like it goes forever on a filling and cut his time in half.

They are expensive, but when you have as much grass to cut as he does (and I do for that matter) it's nice to know that you're not going to waste half a Saturday mowing your lawn when you could be doing something else.

Especially with the weather we've had recently...if you get a nice day it nice not to have to mow.

I was getting sick of not being able to mow the whole place with having to stop and fix something. I was going to get a belly mower for my CA, but the wife talked me into buying a zero turn. A diesel powered mower would have been nice, but Country Clipper had 2 years no interest. Great machine so far. I like the joystick control. If you have to move a tree limb or something out of the way, you can do it with one hand while steering with the other.

Brian, I was the same way with mowing. Had two Cub Cadet that I thought I liked. Turns out I didn't like them that much. They were so slow and almost every time I would have some little thing to fix. I sold the nice one and parted out the other one and bought a Toro zero turn with 52 inch deck. My mowing time went from impossible to about 1 hour. Not even an issue now to keep up with the lawn. And I hardly do anything to the Toro all year except yearly maintenence. My cousin wants to get the Country Clipper with the joystick and the flip up deck. These zrt mowers are the best thing to happen to lawn care!

Before buying this Kubota, My wife and I were using a Cub LoBoy with 60" belly mower and a 48" cut Wheelhorse.
The Kubota is a 54" cut.
I have owned both these mowers for over 20 years and did no mayjor repairs.
The Cub and Wheelhorse are for sale.

There's a guy near me with a front deck kubota diesel for sale.It has a 6ft deck and only 200 hours.I think it's a DZ28 model. He said he paid 12000 and would take 4000.He owned a camp ground and lost his lease and had to move. I never checked on a new one, maybe it is cheap,i don't know.

Jiles, you're preaching to the choir here I sold Grasshoppers back 25 years ago and my oldest son has a 48" flip up deck 618 which is fantastic, however those of us who live in the north country have to deal with that four letter word SNOW!!! and I've had to load up my Cadet Super tractor with 54" snow blade to plow him out many times I know you can get some of those options on the ZTRs but chains and weights are a neccesity. I'm planning on a new ZTR soon but am waiting until my 60" mower deck craps out but the tractor is strong.

No comparison the KUBOTA will out last most any of them and offers SHAFT driven deck and hydraulic deck pick up got to be the best for the bucks.
