He"s referring to a Ford/New Holland 4630, 3 cyl, 55 hp. As far what square baler, just about any of them, model 565 and down. I think the manual calls for 62 hp on the 570"s and above, but they are a higher capcity baler with the rotary feed system. The brand new model # is BC 5050. If you"ve got the money then I"d be looking at 565.

If you"re talking older balers, then I"d look at 310, 311, 315, 316, and if you"re needing higher capicity, then maybe a 320. Even older would be 268, 269, 270, and 273. The 273 was the most popular square baler ever made, by any company, so they are lots of them around. Knotters are basically the same on all of them. 565 and newer went to gear drive knotters, probably the only major difference in the knotters. That"s some of the more common balers out there. Fpr what it"s worth.

Hills or flat ground? 2WD or 4WD? Pulling a wagon or dropping the bales on the ground? Clay, loam or sand soil? Dry, damp or wet soil? Bias or radial tires?

Casey did you get the storm last night. Big time bad here. I have two NH square bayler for sale I think they are something like 266 bayled wheat last week.. Take a grand for either one if you see someone wanting one. Jerry

You'll run any 14"x18" baler quite well with that tractor. It may be a bit lacking in power to really push hard with the newer high capacity models but it will still run them...
