Help, What year is this Case tractor?

I just got back from a neighbor's house who said he had some old tractors he wanted me to look at. Sitting in his barn are two old Case RC tractors, i was hoping for Farmalls but they are in very good shape. The serial numbers were hard to read but I did my best, I'm not making much sense of this website's serial number page for Case's so I was hoping to get help from you guys. The first is a side-steer,#229066. The second is an over-the-top steer,#332976. Again the numbers were hard to read and they might be wrong, but I would really appreciate any help.
Also I was wondering about what price i should pay for the pair? The side-steer has a sickal mower and turns over. Both have good rims and even good tires. The over-the-top steer is stuck and the gas tank and tool box is rusted out. Both are missing the air-cleaner tops but otherwise complete. For as old as they are the are pretty nice and would be very nice fixed up with my Farmalls. Thanks for any help.

The fist one with the top steering is the older model built in 1935 the second one is a 1936.

the serial number on the first one is either wrong or a different model. If its an R or RC then its one of the early models and worth more as very few (about 275) were made.

The model year of 6 digit serial nr tractors is determined by combining the 1st and 3rd digit and substracting 3.

Eggs ample, your serial nr 332976: 39 - 3 = 1936 model year.

The other serial nr 229066 appears to need another closer look.

Post over on the Case board. Guys over there know more than I do about this.

1935 and 1936 were over-the-top steering and 1937 and 1938 were side-steer unstyled and 1939 and 1940 were side-steer styled (sunburst grille).

Joe don't confuse the poor guy with to much information.
