Texas Tractor Collection?

My boy was traveling through Texas this week going to San Antonio to work on an oil well blowout. He came across a front yard full of all makes and models of old farm tractors.

He said they weren't restored but were all lined up in front of the house like they were for sale. He said there must have been over 500 tractors! ??? He said this was not a salvage yard. I believe he said he was about 40 miles west of Wichita Falls, TX on Hwy 287.

Does anybody here know about this collection? Anybody have pictures? Just made me curious.

Thanks,

Dean

I live about 40 miles west of wichita falls. Not on the Highway though. I can't think of anyone that has that many lined up on the highway. If you knew what little town was closest I could tell you more.

not sure but on june 6 gonna be a big auction on highway 77 out of halletsville

On Hwy 281 (which will take you to San Antonio from Wichita Falls), southwest of Wichita Falls 30 miles or so, there is a guy who has rows of old tractors parked all around his house, even in the front yard. The house sits on a small hill and the yard slopes away from the house. Just guessing, but I would say maybe 100 tractors...but that is still a lot of tractors when you think of it.

I live just west of Wichita Falls about 8 miles...I don't go 281 very often, so my info is not real recent.

Several yrs. ago , going into W. Falls from the South East we saw what sounds like what you describe, about 30 to 50 miles out of W. Falls on the east side of the hiway.
Talked w/ a friend latter who said those tractors had been there a long , long time . Don t know if they are still there .

Yes, I just checked with him and it was Hwy 281, not Hwy 287. That must be the place he saw. Probably looked like 500 tractors to him at highway speeds.

Thanks.

i know the place, real nice guy named Ken Luig. the tractors are not for sale as far as i know. he has alot already restored and makes alot of shows around north Texas. Both he and his wife are very nice and freindly to talk to.
