computer virus help question

ok i fired up my computer at the shop a little bit ago and i get this message avg virus has been detected trojan horse. there were some options heal it, move it or ignore it. so i click on heal it. the computer has been sitting there now for about 10 minutes with a big white empty box in the center of the screen and a smaller white box in the lower right. the lower right box has some text in it and it says
attack from 212.25.104.236.port 32002
attack port 48447
threat:bankerfox.a

doesnt seem like anything is happening, the computer is just sitting there
what do i do now???
 
Shut the computer down, immediately, by whatever means you can. Then unhook the network and phone cables to isolate it from the internet and your network. Then try to restart the computer. If it starts up and AVG offers you the same choices, try to delete the file.
 

Since I had LENUX installed, I have not had even one virus===over one year, now...

LENUX "UBONTU"...and it is a Free download...!!

Seems to operate windows faster than windows operates by itself...!!

ok, i disconnected the computer from the internet, then ran the heal button. when it completed, i rebooted, then the warning came up again. so i clicked on put it in the vault. rebooting, the warning still comes up.
 
What kind of anti-virus software do you have installed? Just AVG?
 
Where do you go to gets this download ?

And will it work for free too ? Most of these "free" downloads are free to get but not to use.
 
Iv'e have gotten rid of a tough virus by doing a system restore. You will loose all of your data that was inputed after the restore point, but your computer will be like before the virus.
 
Its spelled Ubuntu. All Linux is free. You pay for the CD only. Ubuntu is probably the easiest one. Can be downloaded if you have fast speed or time to wait.

I had a trojan horse last week. It wouldn't let me do a system restore. Someone in a chat room told me to go to spybot.com . I did that, downloaded the software, ran it and haven't had a problem since.
I had called my ISP who is very helpful and they told me that they couldn't fix it over the phone and that I would have to bring the computer in for $40 they could fix it.
Spy bot is a free download and it has really helped my computer.
 
well, couldnt get the virus out of the system. called the puter guy out. he had to take the puter with him to get it out. aparently its banker fox virus that looks for financial info on your computer and hacks in. well, should be back from the puter doc in a couple days.
 
Actually Ubuntu will even mail you disks for free. I switched last month. Other than re-learning some of the basics, which took about a week, I'm extremely happy with it. All applications are absolutely free too. Office, email, graphics, you name it, it's there, free. I highly recommend it.
