Have a Hercules Engine would like to find what it is for sure, don't know what number to use to identify it.
Was Bought Military Surplus an heavy container, supposed to be rebuilt, It is a turbo Diesel.
for some reason the bottom pulley on the crankshaft has a bad wobble and we think the crankshaft is broke.

If so, have a lot of good parts for sale.

I don't know what farm tractors used this type engine if any? may be able to cross reference parts.

If it was rebuilt for the military it would painted up like new in Kacki-green. And would not have anything wrong with it It sounds to me like a returned engine that was replaced by the rebuilt one that came in the box.

Come on here. Let me ask you some questions: 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder? Approximate physical size? What make injection pump? Any casting numbers? One cylinder head ? 2 cylinder heads? Start there.

6 Cyl and I'm guessing maybe 60" long. I'd say it was out of what the military would have used in their 5 ton cargo trucks.

My friend has it so I will have to contact him for better information. I know he isn't home till this evening.

Walt this must have set for awhile the engine color is still OD green but looks like fresh paint.
It was sold at Gov. auction as a rebuilt,as is.

The container was opened so everyone could see it but when they lifted the cover back on they put no bolts back in and that went unnoticeable till it was dumped off the truck against a bank and the box rolled, cover came off and somehow hit the front pulley. The box I'm talking about must weigh as much as the engine itself. water proof sealed and all. complete with motor mounting system.

OK it is one head

Watch this post, will have all the numbers he can find, ASAP. He isn't at his house for awhile yet.
called his cell phone.

That sound correct Roy It could have been damaged if the engine was not secured to the box. I would take it apart and see just what it needs to be rebuilt.

check the motor oil dipstick. Hercules imprinted some engine numbers on their dipsticks. For instance, an original dipstick for an Oliver OC-3 crawler will have 'IXB3' imprinted on it, indicating the Hercules IXB3 engine is in that machine.
