I will talk to the head honcho for you.

What would you be doing? Everything, what crops, animals too?

Giving up a days work is good (I think you mean you are working for free for 1 day) that is a good way to see if you and Mr. Farmer like it.

what hours are you used to working now I f you are used to eight to five now that will go out the window on the farm. farming is lopnger hours at less pay per hour. been there and still paret time there good luck

well, I know farm life and work that where I come from,

the 8 to 5 I am making far less than what the farmer is going to pay is alot more.

I may have an chance getting back in to farming.

Good luck on your job!! funny story, I had a guy come to me one time for a job, I ask him why he guit Gene ( a friend of mine) he said " he was putting in to many hours for the pay, he worked 375 hours one week! I told him if he could put 300 hours in I would hire him (-:

Prayer sent, but I don't think HE has my email address in his book:)
Maybe Google up his equipment and get up to speed in the event you get a call back interview.
Maybe have him ask you a difficult maintenance question , tell him you will check you reference material, hurry back here for the answer?

HA... that's funny.. there's only 168 hrs in one week, do the math.. 24 hr x 7 day week = 168 hrs..

where did he got the 375 from?

Usta work storm trouble for PSNH an if we did it right we could get 41 hours a day, but that's still only 287 hours a week!  (minus 14 hours on Sat & Sun so only 274! Here's how it went. Work 17 hours @ double time then sleep 7 hours during "normal work hours" @ straight time. That's why we lost the time on Sat & Sun, (no "normal work hours" so no pay while "off the clock") :?

yeah I got my cell phone handy! I can post an message on this web page from cell phone for you guys to answer!

Congrats Steve, I hope it all goes good for you and you really like it. 4000 acres, man thats a lot of land, seeing as I only work 86. Good luck.

Good luck Stevejd. If you enjoy farming, you may be set with a great job. There are lots of farmers looking for good workers up here in Canada, and the pay is good. We were hard up for workers until the last few months when the oil fields slowed down.

If the interview was today then wait until about Monday eve and call him up. Ask if you are not bothering him and then tell him you really want this job. Tell him you would be really good at it and he would not be sorry for hiring you. Ask when would be a good time to call him again to find out if he made a decision yet. Keep yourself in his mind all the time so he tells his wife "this guy really wants this job." I use to own a buisines with 8 employees and when I hired I know it really made a difference if the guy kept calling me.

Or a doctor. I saw a Drs. appointment book once. Minimum 15 minutes per patient and some he only saw for 2 minutes. The hours would add up real fast. Dave

Were are you located? If he does not hire you I will. Around here only help I can get is lazy And shows up late all the time. Wish I could find somebody willing to work hard like you. Good luck.

Hope you get the job.Down where I live they have just about run off all the mexicans. So now the ones that were complaining about the mexicans taking their jobs. Find every excuse they can not to show up.

yeah, there was an Fence co. build different kinds of fences. when things are slow, people not buying fence and money is down.
the fence co has alot mexicans then they lay off all them! say 40 of them!!
