Ok, during day we accumulated about 4+ more inches of rain. Started snowing about 4:30 EST. Has been snowing heavily for 2 1/2 hours. Wet snow, temp in low 30s, supposed to get down to 21 tonight. Had to drive home from meeting, went about 30mph, saw no wrecks.

How is it doing in the rest of the area?

BTW, rain was very welcome.

Here in Charleston, we had rain and thunderstorms all morning. Got soaked trying to get into the church bldg. I saw some blue sky this afternoon, but it is cloudy and cold now.

Hey, Gore is laying low and I don"t hear anything about global warming!!!
Enough with the snow!!!
We are heading for an ice age!!

I'm in Rembert (near Sumter) and now snow yet. Have reports from my boss that it is snowing like heck in the Chapin/Irmo area.

In central NC 2.5 in of rain all day, a few flurries starting to fall now calling for 5-7 in by morning.

NEar Laurens/Clinton area, its not bad at all. Up here in Gray Court its bad. Wife just measured in several spots in the yard, average 7 inches. Just talked to a buddy in Fountain Inn, says about 6. This is at 9:15 Eastern. Saw a few pops of lightning from thundersnows, first time Ive ever seen that!

It had been raining since yesterday morning here in Concord and I know we"ve got alot but haven"t heard an official total yet. At about 6:30 PM it started snowing pretty heavy and as of 9:30 we"ve got somewhere around 2-3 inches. The wife and I had to go out for a little but so I haven"t heard the newest forcast but my sister said their bnow calling for 4 to 8 inches plus all around us. The roads are already slick and it"s still a degree or so above freezing so I hate to see things later on tonight and in the morning. It"s bad enough they have already canceled school tomorrow...but they"d do that if more than two flakes fell anyway. One thing for sure, all of the kids are real anxious to get up and play in it in the morning....To tell the truth I"m sorta looking forward to it myself.

started snowing here, just south of Richmond,Va. about 8pm there's a couple of inches here now.

Just got word that the transmitter tower on Hogback Mt fell. Channel 7 broad casts from there and channel 7(CBS) is off the air. Power has been flickering here.

3" snow in parts of central MO. Very cold also. It's the global warming effect. I just does not always express itself as warming, but in fact could do the opposite.

I think it's caused by polar bear farts.

Got 4 1/2 inches yesterday. Started early in morning and came down in buckets. Got out the ruler and checked it myself. Could not see across the road even it was so bad. I am over in Morgan County area.

I think you don't see as many wrecks in heavy snows as you do with an inch or so because people slow waaay down in heavy snow. Just a light dusting fools people because it can become an icy glaze before they realize it. The deeper snow actually adds some rolling resistance so it naturally slows you down when you coast.

I live near Pittsburgh, Pa. A friend said last summer, he was tired of the snow and cold here, and decided to move to N. Carolins, down 'tween Raleigh and the coast. So, he did! He's got more snow than we do! Lots more, since we don't have any at all!Just flurries-nothing laying! Yuk,yuk!
