Not tired of plowing pics yet

The longer the winter, the better these warm weather pictures feel. Here"s one from a team plowing effort a few years back at the MMOGTA Showgrounds in Oakley MI.

Another from last fall at the A-Tractive Showgrounds in Ithaca. Nice looking combo.

One last one for now. Thanks to Bob1958 below for his pics as well. This one is my 70 with 3-14's in some nice wheat stubble a few years back. Note: I never had to pay a $15 hook fee at a plowing bee, I almost always get to plow longer than 45 seconds, and when I'm done, I don't have to go back to the announcer's booth. Win, win, win, the way I see it!

Great pics!! I have been going to the MMOGTA show since the early 90's. Great show, every year.

I like the pic with the 3 tractors and 1 dozer. The farmall has its rear tires on backwards and still has to slow down for the green ones! LOL!! Seriously though, I wonder how that works with them on backwards?

Fergus,
I have organized a plow day for the last 2 yrs, first yr 8 guys showed up, last yr 18, this yr looks like 23, including a 10-20. What do you mean by "hook fee"? And you mention plowing time, what is that about?
Last yr we had local 4-H prepare and sell food, they made over $100 selling to drivers and the spectators. We have a 30 minute video of last yr, a real good video. We start at 10am, mandatory shut down at noon; everybody can get acquainted and kids and moms feel safer with tractors shut off, start again at 1 pm. And allow only 1959 and older tractors, do not want huge modern diesels plowing it all up in 1 hr.
We call ourselves "Good Old Boys & Their Good Old Toys"; we tell the local newspaper reporter and we"ve made the front cover both yrs. What a hoot!
Where is your plow day? Would like an other tips of organizing you have. Thank you, LA in WI

LA, thanks for looking. The reference to hook fees, was my way of comparing the relative benefits to the participants when compared to a tractor pull outing. At a T-Sled pull, we pay $15 hook fee each time you hook up, and get maybe 30 seconds of seat time (unless you count waiting in line). The plowing bees I have been to are all "free" to join. They are not structured events as such, tend to be neighborhood or club connected. I attend various ones in the Central MI area.

I KNEW y'all would pick up on those tires. I think the H was on the club grounds for a Cement surface pull, and that just happened to be the day we plowed. Thanks to all for looking and commenting.

Hey there:
When my Dad used to "plow" our garden, he
did it with the neighbors horse & hand plow.
I used to follow behind, (barefoot) and it
was my job to "break up the clods" that were
too big. I go back, (in memorey)to when I was
7-11 years old, (I just turned 76 on 1/29/08) those days will always stay in my mind!!
AHH to be that young once more!!!
Bob
God Bless
